TITLE:LABORER
REPORTS TO:PROJECT FOREMAN
DEPARTMENT:HOUSING
CLASSIFICATION:NON-EXEMPT / 40 HOURS WORK WEEK, TEMPORARY
SALARY:DOE

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Project Foreman over seen by the Housing Director. General labor duties for housing projects and tribal facilities. Laborers handle physical tasks in the tribal housing construction environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform labor duties with housing construction crew based upon supervision and direction.
  2. Ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
  3. Follow safety procedures and practices.
  4. Regular clean-up of the jobsite to maintain a safe environment.
  5. Proper disposal of construction waste and garbage.
  6. Assist carpenter, plumbers and other housing crew members with tasks.
  7. Help ensure quality craftsmanship on projects.
  8. Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools including safe operation.
  • Ability to lift at least 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work well as a team.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety.
  • Alaska driver’s license.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Criminal background check.
